Growing up in South Los Angeles, I witnessed firsthand how limited resources, generational trauma, and systemic inequities impact both youth and adults. My own journey—including my experience as a formerly incarcerated individual—showed me how easily someone can be overlooked and how powerful it is when someone chooses to stand with you instead.
For more than three decades, I’ve worked on the frontlines of Los Angeles’ most urgent issues: gang intervention, the school-to-prison pipeline, addiction, mental health struggles, the growing unhoused crisis, and the increasing number of missing persons and human trafficking cases in our communities. These are not distant issues to me—they are realities affecting people I know and neighborhoods I love.
I founded Unified Growth, Inc. as a direct response to these challenges, focusing on community outreach and human trafficking prevention. My work includes counseling, crisis response, life-skills support, reentry guidance for formerly incarcerated individuals, and helping people in recovery find stability. I’ve walked with families impacted by gang violence, advocated for youth pushed out of traditional classrooms, and assisted unhoused residents seeking safety and direction.
